To Heal The World

An international online artistic reflection on mending the brokenness of our global family

A visual prayer for all to recognise and celebrate the healing power of nature. As our world locks down to combat the virus, pollution drops and nature thrives. The circle represents wholeness, a healed world with light at the centre. A trefoil knot of young branches is surrounded by the leaves and flowers of plants with healing properties (echinacea, arnica, chamomile, ginkgo, lavender, Aloe Vera, pea flower, gooseberry, elderberry, kawakawa). I want to share the calm I found in these troubled times as I drew the circular, almost symmetrical design. The trefoil is a symbol of my Christian faith and the artwork reaches out to all in our global family through further references to mandalas and traditional Islamic patterns. The four elements are included with water (at the bottom of the circle), wind (clouds to the top of the circle), earth through the plants that grow over the cleansing fire.
