IBRAHIMA DIALLO
"The Talking Walls" - Painted Crocs Series

Ibrahima Diallo.jpeg

Ibrahima Diallo, 22, grew up immersed in art — the son of Saadio, one of the pioneers of Senegalese Pop Art. From an early age, he was surrounded by canvases, colors, and creative conversations that shaped his artistic path. Like his father, Ibrahima draws inspiration from urban life — from the rhythm of Dakar’s streets to the bold messages painted across its walls and the legendary cars rapides that color the city’s landscape. His paintings vibrate with bright tones that mirror Senegal’s warmth and human energy. Deeply influenced by Pop Art and the symbolic crowns of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ibrahima’s canvases seem alive — translating the chaos, movement, and emotion of Dakar into color and form.

In his Crocs series, Ibrahima lets the city and its walls speak, turning each pair into a vibrant echo of Dakar itself. Through color, rhythm, and texture, he channels the voices of the streets — their poetry, their noise, their resilience. His work celebrates the city not just as a place, but as a living organism, full of stories, dreams, and creative energy.
