AMEN: WASHINGTON D.C.

After being exhibited in Cairo, Egypt, the exhibition "AMEN- A Prayer for the World"  travelled to the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.  and involved 48 artists from Christian, Muslim and Jewish backgrounds (30 premier and emerging Egyptian artists and 18 noted Western artists) each having painted an "AMEN figure".  The exhibition opened on August 30 and ran through October 6, 2014.

 

At the VIP Opening Night program and reception, dignitaries included The Very Rev Gary Hall, Dean of the National Cathedral, and His Excellency Mohamed Tawfik, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the USA.  Other special guests included the Rt Rev Mariann Edgar Budde, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, numerous Ambassadors, US political leaders, religious figures and and key leadership from the art world.
